Pre & Post Treatment Care Guidelines

Proper preparation and aftercare are vital to minimizing downtime, preventing adverse effects, and achieving the most exquisite clinical outcomes.

Injectable Treatments

Neurotoxins & Dermal Fillers (Botox, Dysport, Juvéderm, Restylane)

Pre-Treatment Preparation

Avoid blood-thinning agents for 7 days prior: aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), Aleve, vitamin E, fish oil, ginkgo biloba, and St. John's wort (unless medically prescribed by your physician).
Avoid alcohol and strenuous high-intensity exercise for 24 hours prior to minimize bruising risk.
Schedule treatments at least 2 weeks before major social events, photographic shoots, or weddings.
Inform your injector if you have a history of cold sores prior to lip filler treatments for prophylactic guidance.

Post-Treatment Aftercare

Remain upright for at least 4 hours following neurotoxin injections (do not lie flat or lean forward excessively).
Apply gentle, wrapped cold compresses to treated areas for 10–15 minutes per hour to minimize swelling.
Gently cleanse face with a mild cleanser; avoid vigorous facial massage or rubbing injection sites for 48 hours.
Allow 10–14 days for neurotoxins to reach full clinical efficacy before assessing final muscle relaxation.

Critical Activities & Products to Avoid

✕No saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, or direct sun exposure for 48 hours.
✕No facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments for 14 days post-injection.
✕Avoid wearing tight headbands or hats that press directly on forehead injection sites.

Clinical Safety Notice: Normal swelling and mild bruising resolve within 3–7 days. If you experience severe asymmetrical pain, blanching (whitening) of skin, or vision changes, contact Truffles Aesthetics immediately. If you have urgent after-hours concerns, contact our clinic at (770) 460-2000.
